MamaGas Tea Farm Initiative
BHLF is supporting MamaGas in expanding its operations into Kericho and Bomet counties in Kenya’s tea-growing region. MamaGas will place LPG cylinder exchange points near tea factories, significantly reducing the distance between tea picker households and LPG availability. MamaGas will enable tea pickers to purchase their first LPG cylinder and stove through a repayment plan, breaking down the affordability barriers for these households.
With thousands of households clustered across tea farms in Kericho and Bomet, we are excited to see MamaGas quickly grow this business model!
